Our Story
With more than three decades in dentistry—including private practice, DSOs, and public health—Melissa Tucker founded this company to address a gap she saw in the industry: a need for more thoughtful, personalized staffing and mentorship. She currently teaches dental hygiene at Pima Community College, where she helps students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice. Through Tucson Dental Staffing, she continues that mentorship beyond graduation—while also serving the needs of dental practices seeking reliable, professional staff.
A Letter from Melissa
Dear Community,
Some of you may remember us as AZ Dental Temping—a name born out of urgency during COVID, when practices were short-staffed and struggling. I showed up with a simple goal: to help fill the gap. But as I worked more closely with Tucson’s dental community, I realized something deeper was needed. I met new graduates searching for mentorship. I saw experienced clinicians facing burnout or navigating major career shifts. And I listened to dental practices looking for more than just a warm body—they wanted someone who truly fit. That’s why we rebranded to Tucson Dental Staffing by Melissa Tucker—a name that reflects our purpose and future. We are now a concierge dental staffing and mentorship firm focused on relationships, growth, and long-term success.
